While I love the variety of cuisines that the east coast has to offer, my recent travels back to my home state of California made me seriously miss the classic flavors of the west coast. A trip to San Francisco meant hours to explore the Ferry Building, a seaside hangout packed with every specialty store imaginable, including my personal favorite, Cowgirl Creamery.
A second trip led me further down the coast, until I arrived at a beautiful friend’s wedding in Palm Springs, which meant the luxury of fine desert dining (think griddled bacon and egg quesadillas and banana-macadamia nut pancakes with maple syrup). A final stop in Manhattan Beach led to a slow roasted pork panino with a haystack of blue cheese-covered fries. And apparently I got so caught up in the eating, that I captured my journey down the coastline, but not the food itself. High five!
