Brunchtimeโ€™s most colorful side salad is getting a welcome upgrade courtesy of a quick-fix orange poppy seed dressing that adds a sweet and sour kick to the seasonโ€™s star fruits.

Itโ€™s hard to believe we are in the final few weeks of 2018! With Christmas only five days away, two things are certain: holiday guests are aplenty, and the need to feed those holiday guests has gone into overdrive.

For the first time in 17 years, my family and I wonโ€™t be making our annual trip to Colorado for a white Christmas. Instead, weโ€™ll be staying home in sunny southern California, soaking up the rays and enjoying every second with two new family additions, my fourth baby girl niece and a new sister-in-law.

My mom and I have been busy planning a weekโ€™s worth of holiday menus to feed our growing family of eight adults and six babies, all under age 4. As you can imagine, cooking has to be quick, colorful (little ones love eating the rainbow!) and make-ahead-friendly.

Enter this ultimate Fruit Salad with Orange Poppy Seed Dressing, my latest contribution to the Floridaโ€™s Naturalยฎ Orange Juice Brunch Club.

Chopped up fruit on a cutting board

This is not your ordinary fruit salad. Itโ€™s loaded with seven different fruits, including juicy honeydew melon, tangy pineapple, and my personal fall favorite, pomegranate arils.

Unlike traditional fruit salad, this bowl is bursting with citrusy sweetness courtesy of an orange poppy seed dressing made with Floridaโ€™s Natural Orange Juice.

This year marks my fourth year partnering with Floridaโ€™s Natural, and while previous recipe creations have become dinner staples at our house (hello, Baked Orange Chicken Tenders!), this fruit salad has quickly become a beloved brunch item requested by both my husband and 2-year-old.

I feel good serving this to our family of adult and kid taste-testers alike because I know that Floridaโ€™s Natural Orange Juice is made from only one ingredient and one ingredient only: Florida oranges.

Not only does dressing the fruit in orange poppy seed dressing enhance the flavors of the fruits, but it also extends the freshness factor. I like to whip up this fruit salad a day in advance and toss it with the orange dressing then keep it covered in the fridge until itโ€™s ready to serve. The added chill time amplifies the flavors and allows the tangy orange juice to soak into the fruit for a burst of juicy flavor in every bite.
