Well, I suppose “better late than never” would apply here, as we touch down with my October Edit… on November 9. But I promise my tardiness has been for good reason!
Couples Halloween Costume
It’s no secret that I am a lover of all the holidays, but Halloween has always been a personal favorite. I love the decorations, the spooky snacks, the creepy confections, and of course, the costumes.

My husband and I do a couples costume every year, and he was more than game for our football-themed duo this year, which celebrated my love of Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift … and Andy Reid! I figured Taylor would be the obvious choice to accompany Travis, but why dress up like a sexy popstar (who loves backing Chai Cookies) when you can wear a mustache, stuff a pillow in your pants and walk around the neighborhood screaming, “Blue 42! Viper right! Locket 961!” on repeat? (Yes, I did make and laminate my own play card.) I have never been more comfortable on Halloween. Take that for what you will.
…And More Halloween
The kids had a blast choosing their own costumes. As much as I pushed for a family costume, I love giving them the freedom to choose anything they can dream up.

The boys were a vampire, Pennywise and Superman, while Mia was a puppy. The candy was aplenty and I even talked them into grabbing me a few boxes of Milk Duds, the greatest candy to ever exist.
A Bit of This and That
The October weekends were filled with soccer games galore, and I snapped this shot of Mia and her Fafa (my dad) that I will cherish forever. What would we do without grandparents? Simply the best.

And speaking of grandparents… Tuesday dinners at Noni’s were better than ever, with the longstanding tradition of her famous Chicken Cutlets, Basil Pesto, and of course, Champagne!

It was a surprisingly warm October in San Diego, which meant when we weren’t on the soccer fields, we were at the beach. And I finally figured out the dream setup: kids in the sand, Rummikub on the table, Chiefs game on the tablet and bubbles in my glass. It doesn’t get much better!
