Grab your four favorite fillings for the ultimate Tortilla Wrap Hack tutorial thatโs hot, crispy and takes just minutes to make.

What do I love more than a viral TikTok trend that I can put to the test? One that is more of a template than a recipe with endless combinations!
What is the Tortilla Wrap Hack?
Itโs the easiest and least messy way to eat a sandwich wrap or homemade quesadilla thanks to a strategically placed cut that allows you to fold the tortilla wrap into the perfect pocket.
How to Wrap a Tortilla
The setup is simple, pick four ingredients that you love sandwiched together then grab a round flour tortilla and make a cut down from the center of it to the bottom edge. Next, strategically place your fillings in each of the tortillaโs four quadrants (to guarantee you donโt end up with a mess, stick to about a quarter cup of each filling).
To fold, take the bottom right quadrant of the tortilla, then fold it upwards in a counter-clockwise direction over the quadrant with the other filling and repeat until it forms a tortilla pocket.
For a hot and crispy addition, add one tablespoon of butter to a skillet over medium heat, then sear the tortilla for up to three minutes on each side until the shell becomes golden brown.
No matter which toppings you choose, the approach is the same four, easy steps.
Tortilla Wrap Hack Ideas
What I love most about this viral tortilla trend is that the combinations are truly endless, from savory to sweet. Best of all, itโs a great way to make use of leftover odds and ends in your fridge or pantry.
A few of my favorite savory combinations:
- Nacho-inspired tortilla – refried beans, shredded Monterey Jack cheese, smashed avocado and pickled jalapeรฑos.
- Buffalo chicken tortilla – cream cheese, shredded rotisserie chicken tossed with Buffalo hot sauce, provolone cheese and caramelized onion.
- Pizza-style tortilla – marinara sauce, shredded mozzarella, sliced pepperoni and roasted red peppers.
To guarantee the best results, always include an ingredient that binds everything together (think spreads, cheeses or sauces), placed in the bottom right quadrant. Read on for the basic recipe rundown!
Ingredients
- 1 flour tortilla
- 1/4 cup topping of choice
- 1/4 cup topping of choice
- 1/4 cup topping of choice
- 1/4 cup topping of choice
- 1 Tablespoon unsalted butter
Instructions
- Place the tortilla on your work surface, then using a sharp knife, cut a slit from the center outward to one edge.
- Place each of your fillings in the four quadrants of the tortilla. Starting on the bottom right corn, fold one quadrant up, then across then down to form a triangular pocket.
- Add the butter to a skillet set over medium-low heat. Once it has melted, add the filled tortilla and cook until golden brown and crispy, about 2 minutes. Flip it once and continue cooking an additional 1 to 2 minutes, then serve. (Alternately, cook it on a panini press.)

The Ultimate Tortilla Wrap Hack Dessert
Tortilla wrap hack, but make it dessert! I first shared this dessert tortilla on Instagram and Facebook, and little did I know that over 8 million people would tune in to the video below.
Thereโs just something about creamy Nutella, toasted coconut, strawberries and bananas tucked inside a tortilla thatโs toasted then given the churro treatment in cinnamon-sugar thatโs hard to resist.
