This easy Halloween Punch is fizzy, festive and frighteningly fun! Made with lemonade, lemon-lime soda and bloody-red spider ice cubes, it can be served alcohol-free for the kids or spiked with your favorite liquor for the adults.

My kids may have just gone back to school and we may still be in the middle of a heatwave, but I’ve already been in Halloween party-planning mode for weeks. I love everything about Halloween: the costumes, the decorations and, of course, all the creepy-crawly things coming out of my kitchen. From Frankenstein Rice Krispie Treats and Spider Cupcakes to Halloween Dirt Cups and Breadstick Bones, October is basically my excuse to turn everything we eat into something spooky.
And this isn’t your average witches brew. We’re talking fizzy lemonade punch filled with floating eyeballs and bloody-red spider ice cubes that slowly melt into the bowl. It’s creepy, it’s cool and it’s exactly the kind of thing that makes kids lose their minds at a Halloween party.
Best of all, you can make it two ways: Leave out the vodka for a family-friendly Halloween punch, or spike it for an adults-only party. Grab your punch bowl and let’s get spooky! And don’t miss all of my favorite Halloween recipes for the ultimate fright night feast.
- Lemonade: This does double duty as the base of the punch and the frozen spiders.
- Grenadine: This is what gives the spider ice cubes their blood-red color. The more grenadine you add, the deeper and more dramatic the color. Start with a little, taste and adjust until you reach your desired shade of creepy.
- Lemon-lime soda: Sprite or 7UP both work and give the punch plenty of fizz and sweet citrus flavor.
- Vodka (optional): For the adults-only version. Vodka is my go-to, but you can swap in your favorite liquor.

Now for the fun part! A few spooky extras transform a simple bowl of punch into the ultimate Halloween party drink. Here’s what I use:
- Spider silicone mold: The star of the show! This is the mold I recommend, and I’ll explain exactly why below.
- Punch bowl: Go big here. This recipe makes about 12 cups of punch before you add any garnishes or ice cubes, so you’ll want a large punch bowl with plenty of extra room for all those creepy-crawly additions. I use this 2.5-gallon punch bowl, which also makes a great centerpiece for a Halloween party.
- Floating plastic eyeballs: Totally optional, but they add instant creep factor floating alongside the blood-red spiders.
Success tip: Make sure your lemonade and lemon-lime soda are well chilled before mixing the punch. Starting with cold ingredients keeps the punch cold from the get-go and helps those frozen spiders melt more slowly.
Note from the Test Kitchen: Mold Size Matters
I tested several different molds while developing this recipe, and here’s what I learned: Bigger isn’t better.
I initially tried using the larger silicone mold from my mini Halloween cakes recipe, but those ice cubes were so heavy they sank straight to the bottom of the punch bowl. And we can’t have the spooky part of our Halloween punch hiding out of sight.
These are scary spiders, people. SCARY. They need to be floating around looking appropriately terrifying.
I had the best results with this silicone spider mold, which creates smaller, lighter ice cubes that float perfectly but are still large enough to make a creepy statement.

Plan Ahead: Freeze the Spiders First
The only real planning required for this Halloween punch is freezing the pink lemonade spiders. They need at least 2 hours to freeze solid, but I usually make them the night before so they’re ready to go when party time rolls around.
Stir together lemonade and grenadine until you have a bright, blood-red color, then pour the mixture into your spider molds and freeze until solid.
My best tip: Place the silicone molds on a baking sheet before filling them. The tray makes it much easier to transfer the filled molds to the freezer without spilling, and it keeps the flexible silicone molds from slipping through the freezer grates.
Once the spiders are frozen, the punch itself takes minutes. Combine the chilled lemonade, lemon-lime soda and vodka (if using) in your punch bowl, then add the frozen spiders and floating eyeballs right before serving. That’s it!

Make It a Mocktail or Cocktail
One of my favorite things about this party punch is that it’s just as easy to make for the kids as it is for the adults. For a kid-friendly version, simply leave out the vodka. The lemonade and lemon-lime soda are sweet, citrusy and fizzy all on their own.
For an adults-only party, add one cup of your favorite liquor. Serving both kids and adults? Keep the punch bowl alcohol-free and set up a DIY station so the grown-ups can add their favorite liquor to individual glasses. That way, one punch bowl works for everyone.
FAQs
You can do most of the prep ahead, but I recommend waiting to assemble the punch until just before serving so the lemon-lime soda stays fizzy. Make the spider ice cubes ahead of time and keep them frozen. Then combine the chilled lemonade, soda, and vodka (if using), and add the frozen pink lemonade spiders and eyeballs right before serving.
Start with well-chilled lemonade and lemon-lime soda, then let the frozen spiders do the rest! Because they’re made with lemonade and grenadine rather than water, they’ll help keep the punch cold without diluting the flavor as they melt.
Up to 3 days ahead. Once the spiders are frozen solid, pop them out of the mold and transfer them to a sealable freezer bag to help prevent freezer burn and keep them from absorbing freezer odors. Keep them frozen until you’re ready to add them to the punch bowl.

Kelly’s Notes
- Ice molds: Spider ice molds will vary in size, so the quantity of lemonade/grenadine will depend on your specific mold. Mix enough of the two liquids to create a bright red color.
- Make ahead: The spider ice cubes can be made up to 3 days in advance. Once frozen solid, unmold them and transfer them to a sealable freezer bag to help prevent freezer burn and keep them from absorbing freezer odors. Keep frozen until ready to serve.
- Keep it cold: Make sure the lemonade and lemon-lime soda are well chilled before mixing the punch. Starting with cold ingredients helps the frozen spiders melt more slowly.
- With or without alcohol: Leave out the vodka for a family-friendly Halloween punch. If you’re serving both kids and adults, keep the punch bowl alcohol-free and let the grown-ups add their favorite liquor to individual glasses.
