What Is Warm and Cheesy Onion Dip?

Heaven! It is pure and magical heaven in the form of a hot, cheesy, oniony, peppery dip. The closest comparison would be if Sour Cream and Onion Dip and Cacio e Pepe Pasta had a baby. Now that is a winning combo!

How Do I Make Onion Dip?

All it takes is a bowl and a spoon to whip up these crazy-easy Onion Dip. I prefer to use a stand-mixer to thoroughly combine the ingredients, but an electric mixer or simply a spoon (and a little elbow grease) will also work.

The real secret to making the best-ever Warm and Cheesy Onion Dip is to actually prepare the dip a day in advance then stash it in the fridge. When you’re ready to serve it, pop the baking dish into a hot oven and then let the aromas draw your guests straight into your kitchen.

What Else Can I Add to Onion Dip?

This addictive dip can be spiced up (or down!) and baconized to your delight. A few fantastic mix-ins would be diced jalapeño, cooked bacon or even shredded cheddar.

What Do I Serve with Onion Dip?

If it was up to me, this piping hot dish of deliciousness would be served with spoons. But for all those looking to go beyond utensils, opt for anything you’d dip in queso or any other warm dip. I love crunchy baguette toasts, Frito chips, crackers and all the crudité!

So I’m the friend of Nicolle that can’t let the leftovers (if any) leave my house This recipe is the so delicious! Nicolle now puts a little aside for me to bake the next day ❤️ I make myself now just for my partner and I on snuggle in movie nights, but wondering if I could freeze half for a later date

SUCH a great recipe!! Love it so much, so tasty and surely nice and easy to make, thank you! I’m now asked to bring and/or make it for any function I’m attending or hosting! One friend asks if I can bring her extra so she can have some to eat for the next day, haha! Great recipe!

      1. Oh boy! Kelly I’ve just realized I already wrote a raving review, haha! This is how much I, and others, really love it!!

HOLY MOLY! This is so freakin’ good! YUMMMMMM! Took this to a small gathering about 3 weeks ago, and keep forgetting to write a review. But I have to cause people far and wide need to know how DELICIOUS this is! Wow! I can’t even recall how I came across the recipe but I am glad I did! There were already a few cheese dishes expected so I almost scrapped it, but went ahead anyhow. And every person there raved on about how delicious it was! The person’s house that I brought it to, she asked if I would be willing to leave the leftover at her place, haha! I was surprised there was any leftover! So I made it exactly as listed, with your added suggestions of a bit of bacon, some shredded old cheddar and only half a jalapeño, although I easily could have used the whole thing as it wasn’t that hot at all. I took your advice and prepped it the day before. I served it with a cut up baguette, and there were tortilla chips on the table so people were dipping with those as well. I just now remembered to write this review, as I was looking up the recipe again so I could make for my birthday gathering this weekend! Thanks for such a great, and relatively easy, recipe!!!

can i use cream cheese and chives (like for a bagel topping?) in the hot onion dip? thx

    1. Hi there! This recipe already calls for 1 (8-oz.) package cream cheese and 2 Tablespoons chopped fresh chives. :) I hope that helps!

This sounds amazing, I do a bastardized version of this to make my super quick white pizza sauce. Imagine this dip with mushroom, bacon, thin onion slices and some mozzarella on a thin crispy pizza crust!
