Momoo’s Peanut Butter Bars
My great grandmother Momoo was born in 1894 and her peanut butter bars and homemade jams are some of my earliest inspirations in the kitchen. While Momoo passed away at the age of 103, her legacy has lived on through the centuries with her famous peanut butter bars.
Prep Time: 25 min 2 sticks soft butter or margarine Mix together the butter, peanut butter, powdered sugar and graham cracker crumbs in a large bowl until the ingredients are combined into a smooth mixture. Press the mixture firmly into a baking sheet. Melt the chocolate chips in a saucepan over medium heat until smooth. Pour the melted chocolate over the peanut butter mixture, spreading it evenly. Place the sheet of peanut butter bars in the refrigerator for 10 minutes until the chocolate hardens slightly. Slice the sheet into bars and then return to the fridge until chocolate is fully hardened.
