Fast, refreshing and healthy? Who knew a single recipe could cover all the dessert bases! To top it all off, you’ll be scooping into your own bowl of DIY froyo in just 5 minutes.

While peaches may be a summer staple, utilizing them in frozen form means this dessert is ready for snacking 365 days a year. Now let’s get to mixing!

Can You Make Frozen Yogurt with Greek Yogurt?

You can use any flavor and fat content of yogurt, and even swap in the Greek variety for additional protein. But because Greek yogurt is thicker than regular yogurt, you may need to thin your froyo slightly with a splash of water or juice.

I’m a Greek yogurt superfan and love the power food’s ability to transform everything from banana bread and pancakes to guacamole and chicken wings into a protein-packed powerhouse.

Can I Just Freeze Yogurt to Make Frozen Yogurt?

It depends on what your definition of “frozen yogurt” is. Technically, yes, you can freeze yogurt to make (literal) frozen yogurt. However, in order to have the swirled creaminess you see here, you really need to purée it in either a blender or a food processor.

Prep Time 5 minutes
Cook Time 0 minutes
Total Time 5 minutes
Servings 4 servings

Ingredients

  • 1 (16-oz.) bag frozen peaches or 4 cups fresh peaches, frozen solid
  • 3 Tablespoons agave nectar or honey
  • 1/2 cup plain yogurt (non-fat or whole)
  • 1 Tablespoon fresh lemon juice

Instructions

  • Add the frozen peaches, agave nectar (or honey), yogurt and lemon juice to the bowl of a food processor. Process until creamy, about 5 minutes.
  • Serve the frozen yogurt immediately or transfer it to an airtight container and store it in the freezer for up to 1 month.

  • I prefer a more tart frozen yogurt, but you can add additional agave nectar or honey if you want a sweeter-tasting dessert.

  1. This was fabulous I had abundance of peaches so I cut up and froze them — peel on. Used food processor and perfect even with peel

  2. Can I use a high speed electric blender for these frozen yogurts??? Don’t have a food processor.

    1. Hi Lori! Some commenters have had success in using a blender and others haven’t so I can’t say with certainty if that will work. Let me know if you give it a shot!

5-Minute Healthy Peach Frozen Yogurt This is delicious! I think this will be my go to dessert this year. I love frozen yogurt and with this recipe I’m sure to eat a healthy version. Thank you!

  4. Hi Kelly,
I have a couple of questions. First, would using a combination of maybe sucralose and erythritol or sucralose and allulose be subbed for the honey or agave? Do you think it would affect the flavor that much?

Second, if, after blending, do you know if putting in an ice cream maker would get it any creamier or wouldn’t it make any difference? I didn’t know if the ice cream maker would incorporate more air.

    1. Hi Dave! I’ve never made this recipe with sucralose/erythritol so I’m not sure about the flavor. It’s also really creamy without even putting it in an ice cream machine so I don’t think that’s necessary!

I haven’t tried this YET…but I’m definitely going to…I started Weight Watchers a month ago and have been jones’ing for ice cream…I have enjoyed Häagen-Dazs Coffee frozen yogurt but I can’t seem to find it or ANY frozen yogurt anywhere except Ben & Jerry’s or the SweetFrog store… so finding THIS recipe is like a personal “shout-out” from God direct to me!! I love peach yogurt so I’m sure I’ll like this…but I also HAVE to ask if ya have any idea how I’d make coffee froyo and how I’d make vanilla bean froyo (and while I’m asking, I’ll push the envelope and ask about chocolate froyo too). I don’t know how Häagen-Dazs sweetened their coffee frozen yogurt, or how SweetFrog does their No-Sugar-Added (NSA)…I only know NutraSweet gives me a weird headache, so I’m gonna try to figure out which of the sugar substitutes will work best in this peach froyo recipe. The WW App has a “create recipe” functionality whereby users can plug-in ingredients + servings and it calculates the WW points value, so I plan on doing that with your peach froyo recipe both with the honey/sweetener and with either Stevia/Monkfruit/Splenda aka sucralose… and I would just LOVE your Pro input about how to do Coffee, Vanilla Bean and Chocolate!! Thanks in advance!!! And thanks for posting this!!! I’m taking this soo personally, lol!

    1. Hi Anne Marie! I’ve never made a coffee, vanilla bean or chocolate version (although I’ve added chocolate chips to strawberry froyo – YUM!). I love the idea of coffee froyo and will add it to my recipe development list! :)

      1. You said it makes 4 servings. I live alone so should I freeze some or just refrigerate all of them. Also could you use strawberries or blackberries.

      2. Hi Barbara! You can freeze any leftovers in an airtight container for up to 1 month. It’ll freeze solid but if you remove it for a bit prior to scooping, it’ll soften back up. And any type of frozen fruit works, including strawberries and blackberries!

  6. I have the no sugar added(has some sucralose) in it so I drained and bagged them and now I’m freezing them and I have light and got peach yogurt to put in the vitamix once they are frozen so gingers crossed.

I purchased a box of peaches from the Peach Truck for the first time this summer. I was tired of the usual peach salsa, peach crumble, etc. so I tried this easy frozen yogurt recipe and it was delish! Of course I had to add my own little spin to it by adding maple syrup instead of the honey or agave. I also added a bit of peach & raspberry liqueur which gave it a nice spirited kick. My guests will love it! Thank you.

I love your recipes and content, but the extreme amount of pop-ups and ads make the page unpleasant to use. 3 ads have popped up over the comment section while typing this…

Hit the spot! I had frozen peaches on hand, agave nectar, lemon and 0% Fat Greek Yogurt. Smooth, cold, and tasty in 5 minutes!

  9. 5 stars
Thank you! I needed inspiration what to cook for a work cooking challenge where two of the ingredients were a tin of peaches and strawberry yogurt! I used this as inspiration and it came out surprisingly well even with no lemon juice and sugar syrup instead of the honey as they weren’t in the permitted store cupboard list ;)

  10. 5 stars
I made this recipe using frozen mangoes and also used maple syrup instead of the agave nectar or honey; I served it topped with fresh raspberries. Pure delight So simple and so easy to make.
I made a simple recipe (serves four); next time I’ll double or triple it!

  11. 5 stars
LOVE this! I made a triple batch, and used the most perfect ripe peaches. I just cut them in half and took out the pits, then cut the halves into quarters to freeze. I only had about a tablespoon of lemon juice, so that is all I used. And we are maple syrup lovers, so I subbed in 6 TB of maple syrup for 9 TB of honey. The first batch, I put everything into the food processor, and had to keep opening it up to get the big chunks to go to the bottom to be processed. The second batch, I only put half the peaches in at first, with all of the yogurt and other ingredients, and then added peaches through the feeder in the top. That worked much better. I am going to try this all the time instead of buying ice cream or frozen yogurt! SO easy and the flavour is so fresh!

  12. 4 stars
I just tried it in the blender and had to do very small batches to keep it from seizing up. It is really delicious, though — worth the extra time to pulse & scrape.

    1. Hi Mindy! It’ll freeze solid so remove it for a bit prior to scooping and it’ll soften up. :)

  13. If freezing fresh peaches, can they be with the skins, or do the skins need to be removed? I just split a 25 lb box of Georgia peaches with a friend, and in looking for ideas of things to make with them, came across this recipe/site and definitely want to try this!! Thanks in advance!

  14. Hi, does it absolutely have to be fresh lemon juice, or can I use store bought? Not a big deal to buy a lemon but in case I don’t have one on hand…

    Thanks.

  15. Ok maybe this is a silly question…but what’s the difference between a bag of frozen peaches only needing to be 16oz but fresh peaches, frozen solid needs to be 4 cups (32oz) ?

  16. I don’t have a food processor. Do you think I could make this with my blender? Sorry if this is a dumb question, but I thought I’d ask before I ruin my blender.

    1. Not a dumb question at all. :) A blender works, but you’ll want to scrape down the sides as needed. Enjoy!

  17. 5 stars
It was kind of a pain to get the frozen peaches to break up enough to make it. I had to keep taking large chunks out of the processor and chop with a knife BUT it was very good and I might try frozen strawberries next time.

  18. Hi, can I use fresh fruit or will this work only with frozen fruit? Can you add a drop of alcohol for flavour?

    1. Hi Anna! Fresh fruit can be used in place of frozen, however, the fresh fruit must be frozen solid to reach the desired consistency. And yes, feel free to add in your alcohol of choice!

  19. 5 stars
Made for a friend who loves peaches, used a blender and honey came out beautiful, took few more minutes because of the blender being old, but tastes wonderful. Thank you

  20. 5 stars
It was so nice. I was looking for something fast and easy to make with some peaches I had frozen earlier in the year and it was perfect. Thanks. I will make this again over and over.

    1. Hi Gloria! A blender should work, you’ll just likely need to scrape down the sides more frequently. Enjoy!

  21. 5 stars
I put in all the ingredient at once, no problem processing. It was so creamy and smooth.
This is the best recipe for frozen yogurt. I made it with peaches, then another batch using a mix of raspberries, blueberries, strawberries and blackberries. I did adjust the yogurt to my taste. Both flavors were delicious. I licked the bowl, did not want to waste any. Yummm.

  22. 5 stars
About a year late but I just made this to get rid of a bunch of frozen peaches that have been hanging out for a while and it was delightful!

  23. 5 stars
Made this with Greek yogurt and it turned out AMAZING!!!! Can’t wait to try other fruits too. Thank you, Kelly!!!!

  24. I just made this and it is AMAZING! I changed the measurements a bit and used vanilla yogurt & it turned out great (:

      1. Hi Dawn! I haven’t tried that but it *should* work. Let me know if you give it a shot!

  25. This recipe sounds yummy and I will being trying it tomorrow…Have you tried making it with a different kind of fruit?

  26. How do u make yogurt without using yogurt maybe using almond milk ,coconut milk or whatever? It’s

    1. Hi Anita – I’ve never tried making this recipe without the yogurt, so I can’t say for certainty how the texture would turn out if you substituted almond or coconut milk. Let me know if you give it a shot!

  27. I made this today with a half jar of home canned peaches. I confess, I didn’t follow ‘exact’ measurements. However, the recipe is gracious and we had a delightful dessert! It’s only March… This summer this recipe will be super fun to try with fresh peaches!! Yum!! Thank you!

  28. I have to count carbs as I am a diabetic. Could you supply this type of information when posting a recipe? Thanks.

    1. Hi Maureen! I’ve never tried making this recipe without the yogurt, so I can’t say for certainty how the texture would turn out if you substituted in coconut milk. Definitely let me know if you give it a shot!

  29. This is absolutely delicious….and so easy too! I tried it with peaches this time and plan on using other fruits soon. Thank you so much for such a fabulous recipe!!

  30. I just discovered your website today and I love it! My husband has to watch his carbs and I’m being successful at Weight Watchers. The nutritional information would make choosing “what’s for dinner” so much quicker. Thank you for devoting the time it takes to maintain your beautiful and yummy website!

    1. Hi there, Bill! We are working on providing nutritional info for many Just a Taste recipes (including this one). Stay tuned!

  31. I love strawberries ,,,I think I will try them,,,,and may be blue berries,,,,this sounds so good,,i have got to try it

  32. I made this the other day, but the peach flavor was really weak…any suggestions on how to make the peach flavor come out more?

    1. Hi there! It all depends on how ripe the frozen peaches were that you used. If you used store-bought frozen peaches, they may have less flavor than if you were to freeze perfectly ripe peaches and then make the yogurt.

  33. The nutribullet may not be large enough to hold all ingredients at one time, but I do have one and going to try.

  34. I made this with peach Greek yogurt, peach baby food along with the frozen peaches, honey and lemon. I also added a few drop of vanilla extract. I love to add baby food to punch up the flavor after all it is pure fruit.

  35. I’m going to try this today. Didn’t know about the new KitchenAid Food Processor. I think I need one!

    1. Hi Becky! I’ve never tried making this in a NUtribullet but I know others have had success with using a blender. Hope this helps!

    1. Hi Amy! I haven’t tried this recipe with non-dairy yogurt, but I think it should work. The consistency might be a touch less creamy. Definitely let me know if you give it a shot!

  36. I just made this frozen peach yogurt (found it on Pinterest) and it is fantastic! So good in fact, once I tasted it, I grabbed the whole basket of peaches that were on my counter and sliced them all and they are currently in the freezer waiting to be made into more of this yummy dessert.
    Thanks for sharing!

  37. I’d definitely go for the peach frozen yogurt and then maybe try some other fruit variations…. I’m thinking strawberry mango would be yummy!

  38. Just made this and it’s so good. I like it tart too and put some lemon zest in too. Makes a lot too, going to explore with other fruits! Thanks

  39. The peach frozen yoghurt looks delectable and so easy! I’d make it with the food producer and mane even give other frozen fruits a go too and experiment with it!

  40. I just made this with a bag of frozen mangoes and nonfat Fage Greek yogurt – had to add a little bit of milk to the mixture because it wasn’t blending but once it got moving, it was delicious! Also used a little less honey (maybe 2 tbs) and lime juice instead of lemon, and threw some basil in. I think it would come out great with any flavor combo!

  41. I’ve heard about and tried the one-ingredient ice-cream made from frozen bananas, but I haven’t tried this yet! A great healthy snack for summer!

  42. So I tried making this and after the 5 minutes the mixture was thin like water and not creamy at all? Maybe the yogurt I used was too watery?? I’m letting it freeze now to see what the texture will be like.

    1. Hi Megan – Were the strawberries frozen and did you use full-fat yogurt? My guess is maybe the fruit wasn’t cold enough, as that’s what contributes the thicker consistency.

  43. Umm, this amazing! Followed your recipe exactly in my food processor and it turned out perfect. I will definitely be making this all Summer!

  44. Is there a way to make this Paleo without the yogurt? Wondered about adding coconut cream instead but don’t want to waist all the ingredients if it is not going to taste good. Any thoughts or things you have tried?

    1. Hi Donna! I’ve never tried making this recipe without the yogurt, so I can’t say for certainty how the texture would turn out if you substituted in coconut cream.

  45. I’d totally make the frozen peach yogurt, then try strawberry, blueberry and raspberry. I’d use greek also because we really don’t buy any other. We always have frozen fruit. And Our food processor is about 40 years old with only the shredder attachment! Also I just found a crack in my kitchen aid blender *sniff*.

  46. I suggest you add the peaches gradually after the other ingredients. Keep adding as it smoothens or it’s too bulky to mix. Tastes wonderful and guilt free!

  47. Hey this looks amazing! I could use a blender for this right..and get the same thing? Kinda seems like a smoothie…just a litte thicker….

    1. Hi Katie! I haven’t tried it with Greek yogurt, so I can’t say with certainty, but I imagine it’d work, although the yogurt would be slightly thicker. Let me know if you try it!

  48. You scream, I’ll scream, we’ll all scream when I make the frozen peach yogurt. I’ll scream best if I win the food processor to make it with. Yummy yummy, tis good for the tummy.
