Enjoy dessert sans the guilt my transforming four simple ingredients into 5-Minute Healthy Strawberry Frozen Yogurt! RECIPE: bit.ly/2j2r7uQ

Let’s face it. It’s about to be bathing suit season. And with bathing suit season comes an entire Internet’s worth of lightened up this and 100-calorie that.

While your stash of healthy salad recipes may be booming, chances are it’s slim pickins’ in the healthy desserts department.

Now you can skip the ice cream maker, skip the added sugar and spend five minutes food processing your way to the easiest, creamiest homemade strawberry frozen yogurt to ever cross your lips.

Only 4 Ingredients!

Frozen strawberry yogurt ingredients, including plain yogurt, lemon juice, honey and frozen berries.
  • Frozen strawberries: Using frozen fruit helps to create a creamy, ice cream-like texture without the need for an ice cream maker.
  • Honey, agave nectar or maple syrup: Depending on how sweet you like your frozen yogurt, you can add as much or as little sweetener as you like.
  • Plain yogurt: Greek or regular.
  • Fresh lemon juice: This adds a touch of tang and acidity. It’s purely just for taste so feel free to omit it if you don’t have any lemons on hand.

See the recipe card for full information on ingredients and quantities.

How to Make Frozen Yogurt without an Ice Cream Maker

Making homemade strawberry frozen yogurt is incredibly easy, but having the right equipment makes a difference. For the creamiest results, I recommend using a food processor or a high-powered blender like a Vitamix or Ninja.

Add 4 cups of frozen strawberries, along with the yogurt, lemon juice and honey to your food processor. Blend on high for a full 5 minutes. If you’re using a blender you may need to stop and scrape down the sides a few times to ensure everything is well incorporated.

For soft-serve consistency, serve the froyo immediately. If you prefer a firmer texture, transfer the mixture to an airtight container and freeze for about 2-3 hours.

Let’s Chat Yogurt for Your Homemade Froyo

For the creamiest and richest results, I recommend using full-fat yogurt. However, any variety can be used, from regular to Greek, and in any flavor you prefer. You can even use dairy-free yogurt for a vegan-friendly version.

Greek yogurt will give you a thicker texture, while regular yogurt results in a lighter, thinner consistency. Feel free to experiment with flavored yogurts to add an extra dimension of taste to your healthy frozen treat.

Freezing Tips

Got leftovers? You can store your frozen fruit yogurt in an airtight container in the freezer for up to 1 month.

It will freeze solid but don’t worry, just leave it out on your counter for a few minutes to soften up before scooping.

Whether you’re scooping it straight from the blender for that creamy soft-serve feel or popping it in the freezer for a firmer chill, this healthy homemade strawberry frozen yogurt is a real treat. Feeling fancy? Toss in some chocolate chips.

Grab your favorite frozen berries and yogurt, then share your delicious creations with me in the comments below!

This is the best dessert recipe ever! I have such a sweet tooth and this perfectly satisfies my cravings. I use to nearly always have store bought ice cream or sorbet after dinner and this is better than all of that! I’ve made this recipe a few times and next time I’m planning to use a mixture of berries, thanks for sharing this recipe :)

  3. 5 stars

I never comment on recipes, but this was amazing. Highly recommend. I used non fat yogurt and it turned out incredibly creamy and delicious. If you’re wondering if it is worth it to make it, it is!

  5. Hi! I loved this recipe! May I know if I can freeze the remaining frozen yogurt or won’t it be good to eat it out from the freezer?

    1. I’m so glad you enjoyed the frozen yogurt, Anthea! You can store leftovers in an airtight container in your freezer. It’ll freeze solid so remove it for a bit prior to scooping and it’ll soften up.

      1. I just read about your frozen strawberry delight!! I read a question listed below, can Nutella be incorporated in with the strawberries, how much would I use

      2. Absolutely! You can swirl in as much as you like once the froyo is mostly blended. It will definitely change the color!

  6. 5 stars
Love it – I added some protein powder, flax and chia seeds for a little extra nutrition. Thanks so much!

Used Great Value Light Vanilla Greek Yogurt along w/the suggested ingredients and it was thebomb .com . I wanted to freeze it, but kid loved it unfrozen as well! Thank you for the recipe

I wanted a healthier substitute for ice cream. I had some strawberries from last years harvest in the freezer and needed to use them. So glad I did. This recipe is amazing. I really enjoyed it!

      1. 5 stars
Very easy to make. It was a bit tart so I added some pineapple juice and banana. I made a second batch using a 5.3oz Oikos Triple Zero vanilla yogurt. This one was much sweeter!

  8. 5 stars
Terrific and my whole family loved it! Easy to make although I split the ingredients into two portions for the food processor to blend the frozen whole strawberries faster due to their large size.

      1. 5 stars
Love it! I made a mango version with coconut yogurt, as well as a raspberry version. Looking forward to trying different varieties of fruit and yogurt!

  9. I went to print the recipe for 1 person and this is what I saw:

    0.13 cup plain yogurt.

How much is this? Or am I supposed to use a scale?

    1. Hi there! This recipe wouldn’t work very well if scaled down that small, as the minimal amount of ingredients won’t be enough to blend in a food processor.

  10. 5 stars
delicious & healthier! We have always chopped up & frozen our over-ripe banana’s, they taste just like banana ice-cream…recently we’ve found many uses for cooking chocolate, just melt it in microwave for afew seconds & enjoy with yr frozen yoghurt recipe (my favourite is rasberry & strawberry so far…) with cereals, dried fruit & nuts too…You’ve opened a great new healthier chapter for us, thanx!!! Sarah & Ben

  11. My food processor does not have plastic paddles, just metal blade. Is this ok to use and 5 minutes on low or high?? Want to check before I go any further with the recipe.

  12. 5 stars
I have made 1/2 recipe twice; once with frozen strawberries and tonight with frozen strawberries and bananas. My husband and I loved it. We think we like the strawberry banana best. Next week we’ll try peach.

      1. 5 stars
Made this recipe for a friend that is in a soft food diet for a few weeks. It was so good, I made myself a batch too!!

    1. Hi Elisha – I’ve never made this recipe with ice, so I can’t say with certainty how the texture will be affected but my guess is that it won’t be very creamy.

  13. I have greek yogurt that the Best before date is May 18 2021. Will this recipe still last the month when frozen?

  14. 5 stars
As I don’t like yogurt, THIS IS DELICIOUS FOR ME!!! I hate yogurt and this is great. I only had 2 cups frozen straw. and not 4. Definitely 5 stars.

  15. 5 stars
Following the exact ratios for the strawberry version, I make a mango frozen yogurt and swirl them together. Wonderful flavor and texture with intense and vibrant colors that are natural. Served it at a church picnic and once people tried it, they came back for seconds. I personally like this frozen yogurt over ice cream. I make this recipe multiple times over every summer since I first discovered it.

At my school we are designing healthy lunch boxes and this is exactly what I need- healthy, easy and delicious!! Also do mixed frozen blackberries, raspberries and blueberries work??

  17. Hi! I was wondering about using some herbs in the froyo, specifically mint, but there’s no ideas so far about the ratios, or when to add them. Do you have any ideas/suggestions about how to use them?

  18. 5 stars
Hey there! I love the sound of this recipe. I love to make smoothies! I made this w/ oranges and mango yogurt and it was amazing! I also used a Vitamix instead of a food processor. We’re going camping in a couple of hours. This will be made on our trip

  19. 5 stars
SO YUMMY! I’m 11 and I have been trying out a ton of new recipes during quarantine. This one is SO GOOD!!! I halved the recipe because i just wanted a little treat and both me and my dad loved it! The big strawberry chunks take a bit of work to blend up but other than that, Fantastic!!!

  20. 5 stars
So easy and yummy. I used agave because I had no liquid honey but I think I will try honey next time. Made it with frozen mango and can only imagine how good it will be on a hot summer day!

  21. 4 stars
Fast , creamy, Loved it. Going to making it alot
    I do have a question
how to keep it creamy after freezing it so it is not so hard to scoop out of container

    1. Hi Jeri – The frozen yogurt will freeze solid but if you remove it for a bit prior to scooping, it’ll soften back up. :)

  22. 3 stars
Hi! I made this last night and I loved it. It felt more like a smoothie than frozen yogurt though… How would you make this thicker?

  23. Hi there I would like to try this recipe but do not have a food processor and my magic bullet seems to be too small for 4 cups of strawberries. I’m wondering if I could use an electric mixer if that would work?

  24. Hi! Do you have to use the lemon? Or is it just to add a little tartness? Wanting to make it NOW but don’t have any lemons lol And don’t want to go to the store. Thanks!

  25. This recipe is so easy and so delicious!!!! I made it with frozen mango and it was superb! It’s very refreshing on a hot day and so, so quick to make! Thank you for all your excellent recipes and for sharing them for free with the world!!!

N.B. I used maple sirup instead of agave nectar or honey.

  26. This looks delicious, easy and healthy. I am looking forward to preparing this. Kelly, how many servings does this recipe make @ 100 calories per serving?

  27. 5 stars
I have been missing my ice cream as I wait for a gallbladder operation. However, now I have found the perfect answer.
Absolutely wonderful, easy to make, even easier to eat

  28. 5 stars
Thank you for the great idea! It’s supposed to hit 106 today in central Texas. Perfect afternoon treat.

  29. 5 stars
Oh my, YUM! Hard to believe something so simple could be so good. Kiddos and I loved it! I am planning to make this again and again! Only change I will make is to pre-slice the strawberries before freezing to help my blender out a little bit. Thank you!

  30. 5 stars
I totally needed 15 minutes as it took 10 to get all of the strawberries down to the blades… did the extra 5 for the smooth quality. (Using a Kitchen said Processor) It was amazing!!!!!!!!!! Thank you so much for the recipe! We will definitely be using this again for a healthy alternative!

  31. Hi!
I made this and it’s delicious. It’s day 2 and it’s rock solid now. Is there a way to prevent this from happening?
    Thanks!

    1. Hi Diana – The frozen yogurt will freeze solid but if you remove it for a bit prior to scooping, it’ll soften back up. :)

  32. 4 stars
i was so confused and laughed so much when i saw the Chorestrol-omg.

i thought you said OMG at first then i understood it.

also i love this recipe so much me and my family allways make it now!

    1. Hi Rebecca! Yes, you can store it in an airtight container in your freezer. It’ll freeze solid so remove it for a bit prior to scooping and it’ll soften up.

    1. Hi Jennifer! If you have a food processor (or blender) with a sharp blade and powerful motor, many of the seeds will be pulverized. :)

  33. 5 stars
I made this dessert for after supper today and was extremely pleasantly surprised at how yummy it was.

  34. 5 stars
My family absolutely loved this recipe!! My kids liked it better than ice cream! Very tasty and refreshing!

  35. Will it be alright if I use non-dairy yogurt instead? I have a couple of vegan friends coming over and thought this would be a delicious treat, while still being healthy.

  36. 5 stars
Hey there! I loved this recipe- it definitely satisfied my sweet cravings. However, mine came out very runny as opposed to thick- any suggestions on how to make it more thick and creamy?

    1. Hi Ashtyn! Were your strawberries frozen solid? You could also place it in the freezer to let it firm up more.

  37. This is the perfect summer treat to satisfy my cravings for ice cream without bringing out the Ben and Jerry’s!!!

  38. 5 stars
My kiddos look forward to spring because that means one thing – strawberry picking season! I’ve been making your homemade strawberry froyo for the past two years; my kiddos beg me for it year round, so I make multiple batches to store in our deep freeze. We just went strawberry picking and brought home 3 gallons – of course strawberry froyo will be made!

  39. 5 stars
This recipe just changed my life! I used frozen raspberries instead of strawberries and I couldn’t get my jar of honey open so I used 4 tsp raw sugar in place of the honey. I also added 1 T chocolate chips at the very end and blended them in so they were chopped up. I put it all in a chocolate waffle cone and it was heaven! I didn’t have to go through the hassle of putting it in the ice cream maker and then trying to scrape it all out because it is frozen to the sides or let it freeze before eating it. I will be making this several times a week!

    1. I’m so thrilled you enjoyed the recipe, Susan! Raspberries and chocolate is one of my all-time fave combos!

  40. I’m sorry this is a dumb question… but I am new to using a food processor Which blade do I use to make this? I’m excited to try it!

  41. 5 stars
Tried it tonight using frozen strawberries, whole milk yogurt, honey and lemon juice. I added a wee bit more lemon juice and threw in a few blueberries too. It is delicious! Thanks!

  42. I love this recipe! I make this and store it in small containers that I can throw in my lunch. I have a sweet that is healthier than a small candy bar and because I keep the small containers in the freezer they thaw in time for my lunch and are still fresh!

  43. I am so excited to try this!! Have been a fan of Dairy Queen blizzards in the past but not anymore. Eating healthy Whole Foods that I can make for myself and hubby are the new thing. Thank you for sharing this discovery. Going to try it today!!

  44. 5 stars
I just made this and I’m eating it as I type! It’s SO GOOD! I have a huge sweet tooth but I try to stay healthy, and this satisfied me. I have a Ninja Blender, so I tried it on the Purée setting. I had to stop a few times and stir and I ended up adding a dash of almond milk to get the blender to do its job. It turned out a bit more liquid than I wanted. Even though it isn’t the correct consistency, it tastes so good and I’m definitely saving this recipe for future sugar cravings!

  45. 5 stars
Just starting on this low-carb journey. I was wanting something sweet and came upon this recipe. I went grocery shopping earlier for a bunch of things, but plain greek yogurt wasn’t on my list. I was bummed, it’s NYE and everything is closed, then I remembered, I bought almond milk. So I made it as a smoothie!
I used 1 cup almond milk, a few tablespoon homemade whipped cream, 1 packet of stevia, a few drops vanilla extract, 1/2 tsp lemon juice and 3 frozen strawberries. It was AWESOME!!! Thank you for the inspiration. I added plain greek yogurt to my shopping list.

  46. I haven’t tried this recipe yet, but plan to. I’m diabetic so cannot use the honey/agave. Sugar levels are way too high for diabetics. Carb levels are about 1/2 of 1 days requirements for diabetics. I’m not a big fan of honey anyhow, so I love it tart. The strawberries will have loads of natural sugars and the tartness will come from the yogurt and lemon juice. I’m looking forward to trying it.

  47. 4 stars
Just made this tonight for a small dinner party & it was a huge success! I used fresh strawberries I’d frozen overnight, Greek yogurt, & agave exactly to the recipe for amounts. I have a large Ninja blender which usually is wonderful with making frozen goodies, but I found this a little more difficult than you described. Had to stir everything quite a few times before it began to blend it all, so it took more like 15 minutes to make. But the end product was yummy! When I make it next I’d add double the yogurt because this tasted more like a sorbet. I’m eager to try different fruit as well. Thanks for the recipe

    1. Hi Kelly – It’s the KitchenAid Pro Line Series Food Processor. It’s a bit pricey but it’s absolutely spectacular and will blend anything!

  48. 5 stars
Excellent low calorie and low fat desert! I had to drastically change my diet after a heart bypass operation and one thing I crave the most (but can’t eat) is ice cream. This is the best alternative! Love it!

  49. 5 stars
This is perfect if you’re craving something strawberry without all of the fat of ice cream. So yummy!

  50. 5 stars
I’ve been wanting to try this forever but didn’t have a food processor. This was my first recipe on my new one and YUM! So healthy, yummy, and easy!!!

  51. Yumm! I’m getting ready to make this now. Do you happen to know if the 5 weight watcher points is updated for the new freestyle program?

    1. Hi Marybeth! I’m not sure, as the calculations are all just based off of their standard program.

  52. 5 stars
Just wanted to stop by and say how much me and my girls love this recipe. We have been making it for a few years now, since my girls put it on their summer bucket list to have ice cream for breakfast. Thank you for a yummy, healthy recipe.

  53. 5 stars
The Strawberry frozen yogurt was absolutely delicious. Very good choice for my diet I only eat a little bit at a time

    1. Hi Jeff! Fresh strawberries can be used in place of frozen, however the fresh strawberries must be frozen solid to reach the desired consistency. Hope that helps!

  54. Hi, my favorite is frozen yogurt.
This looks very easy, but I have
One question, can I use vanilla Greek yogurt instead of plain?
Thank you for this fab way to
Feed my sweet tooth and do it
    Guilt free.

  55. Amazing! And so simple. I just made this in less than 10 minutes and am enjoying a small bowl right now! Just packed it up in the freezer so I hope to see how it tastes later.

    1. I’m so glad you enjoyed the recipe, Jenny! The frozen yogurt will freeze solid but if you remove it for a bit prior to scooping, it’ll soften back up.

  56. Hi Kelly, can this receipe be stored in freezer and maintain its consistency if not eating straight away.? Thanks Jo

    1. Hi Jo – Absolutely! It can be stored in an airtight container in the freezer for up to a month. It’ll freeze solid but if you remove it for a bit prior to scooping, it’ll soften back up.

    1. Hi Ashley! It totally depends on how much you want to serve each person, however, the recipe can be easily doubled (or made in two batches).

  57. 5 stars
    Afternoon Kelly,

This recipe has scored a big #10 with my 2 Disabled Veteran children. They were insatiable “sweet eaters” but with this recipe they are able to have the delicious, fresh fruit yogurt, after dinner (sometimes lunch), which takes care of their need for sweets.

Thank you ever so much & their docs & nutritiousness could not be happier. A big plus, this recipe is so simple!

    1. Hi Damian – I don’t claim this yogurt to be low carb, just a delicious and healthier alternative to the store-bought varieties.

    1. Hi Raksha! Frozen fruit is essential in this recipe to reach the desired consistency. Using fresh fruit will result in a less creamy and very thin texture. However, you could freeze the fresh berries before use. Hope that helps!

  58. I made a similar recipe that waa very tart, used 1c Greek yogurt and 3 tablespoons of lemon and lemon zest. Does this recipe need lemon? Or should I just add a bit more honey just in case?

    1. Hi Kristine – You can definitely omit the lemon, and feel free to add more honey if you prefer a sweeter yogurt!

  59. Tastes lovely, but is a lollipop consistency, rock hard. Where did I go wrong. I may have added xtra yoghurt to finish off a tub.

    1. Hi Sylvia! It’ll freeze solid but if you remove it for a bit prior to scooping, it’ll soften back up.

  60. Hey, I want to make this for a relative who can’t have much sugar. Is there anything I can do to reduce the sugar?

  61. Brilliant recipe I used 2 cups strawberries and 2 cups banana to make a mixed berries flavour and It tastes amazing

  62. I linked here from a list of low-carb desserts and 27 is too high for me. I wonder if the strawberries on their own, without the honey, could be sweet enough?

  63. I have made a version of this nightly with various frozen fruit and only 1 tblsp of agave and added 2 tblsp of chia seeds to get a boost of fiber with it and if you let it sit for 10 mins or freezer for a bit, the chias open and are not hard seeds and they still look like strawberry seeds (if you need to sneak it in for kids.)
    This is delicious!

  64. Would this still turn out right if I substituted Stevia or another artificial sweetener for the honey?

  65. Hello Kelly! Thankyou for this amazing recipe. Is The honey a key ingredient? Would the recipe be alright without the honey added?

  66. We make ice cream all the time with just frozen fruit. Frozen over ripe bananas make the best ice cream. When we make strawberry ice cream (which comes out more like sherbet) we let the strawberries get nice and dark before freezing so they are sweeter and then add some frozen peaches for added sweetness when blending. Heaven! If we want to make it more like frozen yogurt or ice cream we’ll add frozen vanilla yogurt squares. I freeze them in ice cube trays, or sometimes I get the organic yogurt in tubes and freeze those and use them. Adding yogurt that’s frozen makes the ice cream, or I guess frozen yogurt, thicker after blending.

  67. Hey Kelly,

I was just wondering if this cool fro-yo dessert would you know, become a whole block of ice once placed more than 24hrs in the freezer? Not to say that yours would but this is just a nasty past experience of mine… I had to re-thaw the ice block and reblend it again… So, how do you actually prevent this?

    1. Hi Charlotte! Yes, it’ll freeze solid but if you remove it for a bit prior to scooping, it’ll soften back up without needing to be re-blended. Enjoy!

  68. What kind of food processor do you use? I don’t want to spend a fortune on one and the ones I’ve seen within my budget range can’t blend ice/frozen fruits :(

    1. Hi Crystal! My favorite is the KitchenAid Pro Line Series Food Processor. It’s a bit pricey but it’s absolutely spectacular and will blend anything!

  69. This recipe was on the list of low carb desserts and yet it doesn’t give the number of carbs per serving! I guess I could look up the carb counts for each ingredient and divide by the number of servings, but honestly isn’t it intuitive to give the carb count for a low carb recipe?!

    1. Hi Karen – I’m not sure what list you are referring to. However, we are working on providing nutritional information for our recipes. Thank you for your patience.

  70. Hi there! I’m an overwhelmed Mom to a my youngest daughters food allergies and little treats she can eat like her brother and sister. I’ve always only let the older two eat something she can’t have while she isn’t with them. But, what are your thoughts on substituting dairy free yogurt’s? My daughters only 4 and can’t have milk, nuts or eggs…its so tough.
    Thanks so much!

    1. Hi Rebecca! I haven’t tried this recipe with dairy free yogurt, but it should work. Let me know if you give it a shot, I’d love to hear if your daughter enjoyed it!

    1. Hi Ella! If you use frozen strawberries you can serve it immediately as it should already be the desired consistency. Extras can be stored in an airtight container in the freezer for up to 1 month. Hope that helps!

  71. Very delicious! Next I will let my strawberries thaw just a bit before throwing them in the processor. They were so frozen it took forever to blend lol.

    1. Hi there, Nannette! I wouldn’t recommend using a hand beater as it won’t be able to crush and blend the frozen fruit. However, a blender could work.

  72. hi! does anything change if I used fresh fruit and yogurt and then I frozen it? how long it last the fray in my freezer

    1. Hi Delfi – Frozen fruit is essential in this recipe to reach the desired consistency. Using fresh fruit will result in a less creamy and very thin texture. The frozen yogurt will last up to 1 month when stored properly in an airtight container in the freezer.

    2. it gives the answer to your question in Kelly’s notes below the recipe.
“Fresh strawberries can be used in place of frozen, however the fresh strawberries must be frozen solid.”
Just put your strawberries in the freezer in an airtight container (a zip lock freezer bag will do). Depending on your freezer may be ready in a few hours but certainly overnight. Hope this helps. Bill

  73. This looks delicious & I can’t wait to make it but yes, I’d like to get an idea on the nutritional facts also. Thanks!

    1. Hi Danielle! Do you mean before you blend the ingredients together? Because there’s no need to freeze the yogurt, just make sure to use frozen fruit. Hope that helps!

  74. I just made this with 2c strawberries and 2c mango but thawed them, ran through the blender then in the ice cream maker for about 15 minutes. It came out perfect!

  75. Why do the fresh berries have to be frozen? Would it not freeze correctly if I use unfrozen fresh? I don’t have a blender or food processor. I was wondering if I could do it in my kitchen aide mixer..

    1. Hi there, Jessica – Frozen fruit is essential in this recipe to reach the desired consistency. Using unfrozen fruit will result in a less creamy and very thin texture.

  76. Made this tonight, put into 6 ice lolly mounds, froze them, and had a small portion left which I had to eat! Delish!

  77. I had enough strawberries to do almost 2 batches so I supplemented with some blueberries I had on hand. I also used plain Greek yogurt, then mixed the two batches together. For the sugar-lovers out there, including myself, I added some semi-sweet chocolate chip mini-morsels. Delicious!

  78. I’ll be making this tomorrow right after I pick up a dairy free yogurt. I’m going to play with using maple syrup since I get way more than I ever use for free every year. Since I’m single and live alone I’ll freeze these as individual portions for a great snack that will satisfy my sweet tooth as I try and loose weight. Thanks

  79. This sounds great! I too don’t have a food processor. Has anyone tried to make it using the magic bullet with a smaller amount maybe?
Let me know if it worked. Thanks

  80. I prefer tangy/sour desserts. I would omit the honey probably. Could this be made with plain greek yogurt?

  81. This recipe sounds wonderful, will make it for the grandkids this summer. However, I think that the suggestion of using Agave syrup should be removed, since it has been proven to be very bad for our health.

  82. Hi I’m doing a project and I wanted to know if ur frozen yogurt can server 16 people? The serving size of the food I’m giving is not that big. So should I double the recipe or what? Thansk

    1. Hi Ivy! It totally depends on how much you want to serve each person, however the recipe can be easily doubled (or made in two batches).

      1. I’ve made something very similar to this with frozen peaches and almond milk. You could try that or maybe soy or coconut. None of them are dairy, technically. Also used a blender and it came out fine. Hope this helps.

  83. This frozen yogurt is fantastic!! I made mine with Greek yogurt so I added a bit more honey at the end. What a great way to crave my sweet tooth, and have all natural ice cream (no added preservatives or chemicals). Mine wasn’t extremely firm, but I suspect that will change for the remaining servings I put in a container and have in the freezer. Thanks for sharing this recipe.

  84. That looks absolutely amazing! What a pretty color – and 5 minutes?? It’s wintertime but I kind of want to make this now…is that weird?

  85. DIOS BENDIGA A LOS QUE CREARON ESTA BENDITAS PÁGINAS, PARA EL PÚBLICO, SE DE SEGURO QUE PONIENDO
EN PRATICAS TODAS ESTAS SABROSA Y SALUDABLES OBTENDREMOS MEJOR CALIDAD DE VIDA.FELICIDADES. Y GRACIAS! !!!!!!!!!!

  86. A nice idea and easy to make. I used frozen raspberries and it worked well. Saved my diet tonight when else everyone was eating ice cream.

  87. I was looking for a recipe for frozen yogurt that used honey or agave and didn’t require an ice cream machine. Perfect to add to my Genotype Teacher and Blood Type A boards on Pinterest to share with others. Going to make this when I get more honey.

    1. Hi Serina! I haven’t tried making this recipe with a blender but several readers have told me that it works :)

  88. We just made this and it is so good! I never would have thought to use frozen fruit. Thanks for sharing!

  89. I LOVE THIS! I made this for my son’s first birthday party and used stevia simple syrup to sweeten it a little. It was a BIG hit! Thanks so much!

  90. A fantastic summer treat! Works great with raspberries, too :)

I also don’t have a food processor but a blender, and it worked fine like this:
blend the berries and honey/syrup with only half of the yogurt until smooth (and liquid-y), then transfer to a freezer-safe bowl and gently whisk in the rest of the yogurt. Then pop it in the freezer for about 15 min. Awesomely creamy! :)

  91. What did I do wrong? Tried to make strawberry frozen yogurt. Used my food processor for the 1st time. After 5 min it was liquid not creamy.

  92. I love how easy this is – I’ve made similar desserts before by freezing bananas but somehow I’d never thought to do the same with strawberries.

  93. This is a great recipe.Just one question:Is the lemon juice used just for flavor or it’s for another purpose as well?

  94. Thanks much for sharing this recipe. Prepped it this morning for an afternoon delight with my grandson….love the freshness of it!

  95. This looks yummy – since you said you like more tart, did you try it with Greek yogurt? I may…
    thanks for all the recipes!

    1. Yes, I tried it with Greek yogurt and it was awesome! Hope you enjoy the recipe, Charlotte :)

  96. Made this for my mom (who loves snacking on sweet treats but has never found a liking for “the healthy kind”) and of course myself. The consistency that resulted from the frozen strawberries was perfect. My mom & I are so grateful to have found this recipe!

Ps: We are going to experiment with some more yummy fruits like mango!

  97. Oh my gosh. I just made this, I used frozen mixed berries, cause that is all I had and this was DELICIOUS. I can’t wait to make it again, will need to get more berries. Wonder if 10:49 pm is too late to head to the store?

  98. i saw your recipe and since I had all the ingredients on hand, stopped and immediately mixed it up. I used Greek yogurt and it’s delicious. Thank you for sharing.

  99. I added lime juice instead of lemon and lime flavored yogurt. Makes it taste like a strawberry margarita.

  100. Hi, this looks SO good! I can’t wait to try it. I was wondering if I could use this recipe for a strawberry recipe round-up I’m doing? I would be using a photo only and linking back to this post for the recipe. Thanks!

  101. Thank you so much, Kelly. I love frozen yogurt and this recipe allowed me to enjoy my favorite dessert that is healthy, as well as low in calories. I can’t wait to make a batch for my wife and son to try it. I just wanted to let you know how much I appreciate you sharing this recipe with us =)

  102. I LOVE this!!! I have a real sweet tooth and I’m trying to be more careful with how much sugar I eat. My husband and I are eating this right now and love it! It satisfies my craving without the calories.

  103. The color attracted me also. So many delicious strawberries! My husband’s favorite ‘flavor’ in ‘ice cream’ – and this recipe received his stamp of approval-A SECOND HELPING! Recently we went to a place that had ‘Gerson; therapy, which is also good for other ‘incurable’ illnesses, and found out that we needed to be on a mainly ‘vegetarian/organic DIET for some of that ails my husband, and to find this recipe, sugar free, etc. besides organic, was an answer to our prayers!

  104. I made this and I absolutely loved it. You can also make Popsicles out of this which tasted great also.

    1. Hi Zeina – I don’t provide calorie counts for any of my recipes because I am not a certified nutritionist.

  105. I love this easy recipe… i don’t have a food prosecor so i used a Hamilton beach blender….. IT WAS SO HARD TO MIX (because its a blender that probably needs liquids… so the ninja blender works as said in the comments. but the Hamilton beach blender is a no no! :) This is still a very easy and good recipe!

  106. I just tried this with some changes. I made mine with a cup of yogurt, strawberries, bananas, & a tbsp of agave syrup. I blended until smooth, and then I added them to candy molds & froze them. They were ridicously good. I swear they were the best yogurt I have EVER eaten! Thank you so much for sharing!

  107. I just made this, but I divided it by four to get a single serving…IT WAS FREAKING AWESOME!! This recipe is definitely a keeper.

  108. This is a great idea for buying strawberries before the price goes up and freeze them for this.. would be great for taking on a beach trip. will try!!

  109. I have made this twice now and it’s been great both times! First time with the strawberries. Tonight with frozen sweet dark cherries, OMG, so good! Did add any sweetner b/c the cherries were sweet enough. Thank you for sharing this GREAT and healthy recipe!

  110. I found this on Pinterest and I’m so glad you watermarked you pics! When I tried to check it out from the pin, Pinterest blocked the site as unsafe. Saw your watermark and hopped right over here! Looks delicious! I’ll definitely be trying this with my kids!

  111. just made this today using fresh frozen strawberries and vanilla yogurt, did a taste test and omg it is amazing, thank you sooooo much for the recipe :D

  112. Just made something similar to this an hour ago! However, it only requires 2 ingredients and soy milk! I used a combination of frozen strawberries, mango, pineapple, ect. & eyed about a third of a cup of light vanilla silk soy milk! Just process your frozen fruits in a processor, I use a Ninja, for about 3 minutes, then add in some soy milk and process for about 3 more minutes! Delicious!

  113. thank you for posting this recipe! I used your guidelines to make frozen yogurt with the fruit I had on hand: 4 cups of frozen raspberries and banana. It turned out FANTASTIC! I cannot wait to try your peach version soon! Thanks again!

  114. WOW! This looks so delicious! And I seriously can’t believe it only has 4 ingredients! I definitely need to try this before summer is done!

  115. I make frozen yogurt all the time in my Ninja blender with one cup of frozen no sugar added fruit, half cup of Greek plain yogurt, and 2 packets of Stevia. (No need to use agave or honey which only raises blood sugar and adds unnecessary calories.)

  116. I just shared this recipe on my “Weekly Round-up” series of top recipe finds! This week was all about strawberries, so I knew this was a must add. Thank you for sharing such a wonderful recipe with us!

  117. I just made your recipe using 1 cup frozen mango, 1 cup frozen pineapple and 1/2 cup soy yogurt. It came out super delicious. Thanks for the great recipe

  118. I made two batches last night with my 4yo. One with strawberries, and one with mangos. They both turned out amazing! I froze half as strawberry/mango popsicles, and the left overs for me.

  119. This looks delicious and I’d love to give it a try. Would I need to use Agave Nectar or could any honey work?

  120. Tip for soft ice cream/froyo:

For this particular recipe, after making it & placing it in an airtight storage container, place the sealed container inside a large Ziploc freezer bag. It’ll keep this awesome dessert ready-to-eat at all times!

You can do the same with store-bought or homemade ice cream & yogurt. Just place the container/carton in a freezer bag before putting it in the freezer.

  121. Loved this recipe! Good for hot summer days when you want to do nothing but stay inside with the AC on. Very simple, straightforward and easy!

  122. Yay! I have a little guy that’s cutting weight right now. Always looking for new fruit treats for him. I was hoping my Ninja would work! And we only let him have Greek yogurt! Thank you for posting!!!

  123. I just tried to make this delicious looking desert, however it came out much more liquidy than its suppose to be. The only difference I made was using a blender, could that be the problem?

    1. Hi Melinda – Yes, that is definitely the reason. While some people have made this recipe successfully using a blender, I’ve only ever tried it with a food processor. You can still try freezing what you’ve made, or grab a straw turn it into a smoothie!

  124. I freeze vanilla yogurt in an ice cube tray and run frozen strawberries and the yogurt cubes through my champion juicer with the blank plate. No sweetener or other flavorings needed. It’s delicious and so refreshing. My alternate flavor is made with frozen pineapple cubes.

  125. Hi! Thanks for the recipe, I just made a video on how to make DIY strawberry frozen yogurt & i would love if you could check it out :)

  126. This looks great! Could Stevia or Splenda work with this recipe? I have diabetes. Thank you.

  127. Can you use a dairy free milk option instead of regular dairy milk. This looks so good. Both my mom and I are sensitive to dairy and always try and look for dairy free options that are healthy

  128. I am looking to make this recipe for about 30 kids. The recipe says 4 servings, but curious how big is a serving? Thanks!

  129. My sons and I just made this! So delicious! We bought fresh strawberries on sale and froze them. The only thing I will change next time is to cut the strawberries in half before I freeze them. Some were too large and took extra time in the food processor. Again , thank you for posting something so simple yet so richly delicious.

  130. WOW, just made this recipe. It is DELICIOUS!!!!! It put strawberries and peaches and vanilla yogurt (instead of plain yogurt). Thanks :)

  131. Just made this with greek yogurt and my ninja blender and both worked out fantastically! Excited to make this again! Thank you!

  132. This is soooo simple and delicious! I switched it up a little and made it with vanilla yogurt, strawberries, and blueberries for a tart twist. I will definitely be making this again (in the very near future)! Thanks for sharing :)

  133. I made this and it was FANTASTIC! I can’t wait to continue whipping it up all summer. Thanks for a wonderful recipe!!

    1. Hi Christie! I’ve never tried this recipe with a blender so I can’t say for certain if it would work. But let me know if you try it!

  134. These are stunning and we use them liberally in our family. We use this recipe also as a snack for our dieting group and it really works with weight loss. Strawberries are great for the body and when used in a science based diet it causes great fat loss of the belly.

    1. Thanks Olivia! I’ve never tried this recipe with maple syrup, but I don’t see why not!

  135. Looks amazing!! I’m going to have to try it when family comes next week. Do you think the consistency will change a lot if I do it with Greek yogurt?

    1. Hi Amelia! I’ve never made this recipe with Greek yogurt, so I can’t say for certainty how the texture will be affected, but I think it’d still turn out great!

  136. Just made this yesterday and it was delish! Do you recommend storing in the refrigerator or freezer? We wanted to try the freezer out but it of course became solid as a rock. Any tips for preventing this? Great recipe!!!

    1. Sp glad you enjoyed the recipe, Kristen! I always store it in the freezer and then leave it out for about 20 minutes to give it a chance to soften up slightly before serving it.

  137. My child is allergic to milk products. Any idea how I could McCaskey this for him?! My wife and I tried the receipt and LOVED it!!!

    1. Hi Grant! So glad your wife enjoyed the recipe! Could you just swap in a diary-free yogurt?

  138. Is a blender the same thing as a food processor. ..I dont think 4 cups would fit into my processor, my blender would fit that though.

  139. This sounds super yummy! I love recipes with only a few ingredients, and looooove frozen yogurt, so i’m definitely going to need to try this asap! The photos are so beautiful and brings, makes me want some right now!

  140. Me and my girls just made this, sooooooo yummy. My girls couldn’t believe how simple it was to make and will be making this all summer long. Can’t wait to try different fruit combinations and placing some in Popsicle molds. Thank you for a wonderful recipe.

  141. I made this with strawberries, blueberries, and peaches (all the ends of the bags of frozen fruit.) It is delicious! I double it and then put it into the container of the frozen yogurt we just finished! Will definitely make again! I added some vanilla and 1-2 extra tablespoons of honey.

  142. Looks awesome, can’t wait to try it out!
Note for other readers — you can freeze your own fresh strawberries in a way that doesn’t get them frozen together in a huge chunk by prepping them (remove stems, cut in half if large) and putting them in old ice cube trays!

  143. I didn’t have strawberries so I did raspberry and mango. Oh my heaven! So good. Thanks for the recipe.

  144. I just made this and it is delicious. My hubby and I have a new summer treat. Thanks

  145. This would be the perfect dessert for hot summer days! And even cold spring days like today :)

  146. Mmm I picked a ton of strawberries on monday. This would be a great way to use some!

  147. Beautiful, Kelly! Love these easy frozen desserts from you. :) Pinning!

  148. I just made something very similar to this! Looks like we both have summer treats on the brain : )

  149. Oh my goodness, thank you for publishing this. I am following a really low-fat/nonfat diet (who isn’t, I know) and I cannot eat enough frozen nonfat yogurt as a treat. I can’t wait to make this (and make it my own with variations). Thank you!
