5-Minute Healthy Peach Frozen Yogurt

5-Minute Healthy Peach Frozen Yogurt

Somehow we find ourselves sliding into the second week of August. I don’t know about you all, but I am stuck somewhere between “holy cannoli, wasn’t it just Christmas” and “hallelujah, bikini season is almost over.” It has been a whirlwind summer, with three notable developments in the last week alone …

1. You may notice things look a little different around these parts. The site had a tiny facelift courtesy of the talented Lindsay Landis of Purr Design. There are new and improved navigation and search bars up top, as well as a rockin’ new recipe index page that allows you to search and sort recipes by both category and ingredient. And if you scroll down to the footer, you’ll find an evolving lineup of the most popular recipes on the site, as chosen by you!

2. My new weekly video series launched with a tutorial for easy homemade ricotta cheese. The series, which is published every Friday morning, features recipes and tips to help you save time and up your game in the kitchen. You can check out the new video page for a full list of video tutorials and feel free to subscribe to my YouTube channel.

3. Juan Pablo was announced as the star of the next season of The Bachelor.

Three nearly life-changing developments if you ask me. But the sweetness doesn’t stop there, because today I’m serving up a recipe for 5-Minute Healthy Peach Frozen Yogurt that’s made with just four ingredients and a food processor. And I’ve partnered with the generous team at KitchenAid to make sure this frosty dessert happens in your home kitchen. One lucky reader will receive the new KitchenAid Pro Line Series 16-Cup Food Processor, which has given my beloved stand mixer some serious competition in the Favorite Countertop Appliance department.

5-Minute Healthy Peach Frozen Yogurt

Yield: 4 servings

Prep Time: 5 min

Ingredients:

1 (16-oz.) bag frozen peaches or 4 cups fresh peaches, frozen solid
3 Tablespoons agave nectar or honey
1/2 cup plain yogurt (non-fat or whole)
1 Tablespoon fresh lemon juice

Directions:

Add the frozen peaches, agave nectar (or honey), yogurt and lemon juice to the bowl of a food processor. Process until creamy, about 5 minutes.

Serve the frozen yogurt immediately or transfer it to an airtight container and store it in the freezer for up to 1 month.

Kelly's Notes:
I prefer a more tart frozen yogurt, but you can add additional agave nectar or honey if you want a sweeter-tasting dessert.

Cut back. this would sure make cooking easier. went peach picking and Apple season is approaching fast so
It would get a major workout. Apple pie, peach tart and especially pie crust. I double my recipe and flatten into
Individual crust size, bag and freeze for use all holiday season.

    • Kelly Senyei replied: — October 17th, 2013 @ 5:05 pm

Hi Katie! I haven’t tried it with Greek yogurt, so I can’t say with certainty, but I imagine it’d work, although the yogurt would be slightly thicker. Let me know if you try it!

I’d totally make the frozen peach yogurt, then try strawberry, blueberry and raspberry. I’d use greek also because we really don’t buy any other. We always have frozen fruit. Is there a way to make this Paleo without the yogurt? Wondered about adding coconut cream instead but don’t want to waist all the ingredients if it is not going to taste good. Any thoughts or things you have tried?

    • Kelly Senyei replied: — May 1st, 2014 @ 9:58 am

Hi Donna! I’ve never tried making this recipe without the yogurt, so I can’t say for certainty how the texture would turn out if you substituted in coconut cream.

    Megan says

So I tried making this and after the 5 minutes the mixture was thin like water and not creamy at all? Maybe the yogurt I used was too watery?? I’m letting it freeze now to see what the texture will be like.

    • Kelly Senyei replied: — May 18th, 2014 @ 11:19 pm

Hi Megan – Were the strawberries frozen and did you use full-fat yogurt? My guess is maybe the fruit wasn’t cold enough, as that’s what contributes the thicker consistency.

I just made this with a bag of frozen mangoes and nonfat Fage Greek yogurt – had to add a little bit of milk to the mixture because it wasn’t blending but once it got moving, it was delicious! Also used a little less honey (maybe 2 tbs) and lime juice instead of lemon, and threw some basil in. I think it would come out great with any flavor combo!
